Propaganda (Digital, 2022)
A series of digital works that use digital painting and digital decollage to imagine large billboards I often see while driving between the ranch and Rio. The works are a celebration of the worn aesthetic of the remnants of an advertising poster on it’s billboard frame. What was being sold on the now scraps of stubborn paper that refuse to wear-away? What do the compositions left behind convey? To me the worn and tired road-side billboard is as beautiful a thing as any master painting. They are public works of art, made by the hand of man and nature combined. This series is a pure homage to those roadside masterpieces that continue to impress and inspire me.
